Ford Explorer owners manuals are here. While we do not have 1990 to 1995 model manuals, we do have the owners manual for every Explorer made since 1996 in PDF format.
The Ford Explorer is a vehicle that Ford first started producing in 1990 as a replacement for the smaller Ford Bronco II. The Ford Explorer was key in causing the SUV to become one of the most popular types of vehicles for American families, and because of the Explorer, SUV’s are now one of the most common vehicles on the road. Until 2010, the Explorer was produced using the traditional body-on-frame style for mid-size SUV’s; since 2011 however, Ford has used the more modern uni-body crossover SUV platform. This is the same platform that is used on the Ford Flex and the Ford Taurus.
The Ford Explorer is Ford’s mid-level SUV, fitting in-between the full-size Ford Expedition, and the mid-size Ford Edge. The Ford Explorer has developed over the years, and there have been 5 distinct generations of this vehicle ranging from 1990 to the present. The main feature that stands out on the newest generation of Ford Explorer is its improved fuel economy. Current models of the Ford Explorer come equipped with either a 2.0 EcoBoost turbocharged I-4 engine, a 3.5 L Duratec Ti-VCT V-6 Engine, or a 3.5 L EcoBoost twin-turbocharged V-6 engine. These engines are a great improvement over the high fuel consuming early editions of the Explorer.
For current or prospective owners of the Ford Explorer who want to know more about its features and specifications, its owner’s manual is available in a PDF form at the bottom of this page.
