The Dodge Stratus was introduced in 1995 as a four-door family sedan. In both 1996 and 1997 The Stratus was featured on Car and Driver magazine’s Ten Best list and received critical acclaim around the time the car was introduced. Over time, the Stratus became less popular and and the Stratus was eventually replaced by the Dodge Avenger in early 2007.
The first generation Dodge Stratus, released in 1995, came standard with the 2.0 L straight-4 engine and had the SOHC 2.4 L engine as an optional add-on feature. In 2001, sales of Dodge Stratuses began to decline, so they release a new model, the Stratus Avenger, and reconstructed their classic, the Stratus Coupe.
In 2003, the new and improved Stratus Coupe was released, but only two years later the Coupe was discontinued due to poor sales.
In 2007, Dodge had completely revitalized the Dodge Stratus to meet the needs of drivers and released the new and improved Dodge Avenger, which has seen much more success in the car industry than the previous Stratus model.
