The Chevrolet Trailblazer was named North American Truck of the Year in 2002, and has been one of the most popular SUV’s since then. The Trailblazer was a high end trim package to the Blazer in 1999. In 2002 it became a model itself and was redesigned, leading to being named truck of the year.
The first generation of Trailblazer ran from 2002 to 2009, and a second generation was introduced for the 2013 model year. In 2006 a SS, or Super Sport package was introduced. An EXT package was also available, which was a three-row seven-passenger vehicle Additionally, there were three basic trim packages, which included the basic LS, the mid-range LT and the deluxe LTZ model. The LTZ offers a straight-six cylinder, 270 horsepower engine. Standard engines are the straight six, 4.2 liter and the V8 that has a 6.0 liter power plant. The SS package has an all-wheel drive option and all of the Trailblazers had the option of four-wheel drive power trains.
